Dr. Tabaroki is a well-respected oral surgeon in Queens, New York. He attended New York University College of Dentistry where he earned his DDS degree and graduated with honors in 1998. He then completed the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Residency Program at Montefiore Medical Center. Upon completion of his residency in 2003, Dr. Tabaroki has been practicing in the New York area for more than 20 years.

Dr. Tabaroki has a special interest in maxillofacial trauma, reconstruction, and implant surgery. More specifically, Dr Tabaroki’s interests lie in full/partial reconstruction of the jaws with dental implants and reconstruction with bone grafting of the maxilla and mandible for permanent prosthetics.

Dr. Tabaroki has a keen eye for detail and is committed to providing excellent care to his patients. For him, it is genuinely rewarding to meet with a patient who may be experiencing pre-procedure anxiousness, guide them through their visit, and see them surprised by how easy the entire experience truly is.

He is a member of the American Dental Association, American Association of Oral & Maxillofacial surgeons, American College of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeons, New York State Society of Oral and Maxillofacial surgeons, New York State Dental Association, American Dental Society of Anesthesiology and Queens County Dental Society.

When he’s not operating, Dr. Tabaroki enjoys travelling with his wife and kids, playing Poker, and cheering on the New York Knicks and New York Jets.

General Anesthesia

General anesthesia is typically reserved for surgical complex procedures like orthognathic (jaw) surgery or facial trauma, as it induces complete unconsciousness. This form of anesthesia is commonly administered in a hospital setting and requires intubation during the procedure.

IV Sedation

IV sedation is administered via the arm or hand, inducing a rapid transition to a sleep-like state for patients. With this type of anesthesia, you will be partially or even fully asleep and will likely forget the entirety of the procedure. If IV sedation is chosen, it’s necessary for an adult to accompany you and drive you home following the procedure.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide, commonly referred to as laughing gas, is a gentle sedative administered through a mask placed over the mouth and nose. This gas effectively alleviates anxiety and discomfort during dental procedures, ensuring patients feel at ease and relaxed. The patient is able to interact with the doctor and respond to any directions or questions.

Local Anesthesia

Local anesthesia involves injecting medication directly into the surgical site to numb the area. This ensures your comfort throughout the procedure, and the numbing effect typically subsides within a few hours. Additionally, local anesthesia can be used in conjunction with other anesthesia methods.
