Benefits of Neurotoxin

When administered by a qualified medical professional, neurotoxin offers numerous advantages beyond its cosmetic benefits and pain relief properties. As an FDA-approved treatment renowned for its remarkable anti-aging effects on fine lines and wrinkles, neurotoxin presents a safe and cost-effective alternative to more invasive cosmetic procedures. Its benefits include:

  • Quick treatment sessions for easy and convenient procedures.
  • Minimal downtime, allowing you to resume normal activities almost immediately.
  • Minimally invasive treatment with minimal to no discomfort.
  • Subtle yet effective results, such as lifting the corners of the mouth or softening a square jawline.
  • Easy maintenance, requiring treatment only every three months.
  • Suitable for both men and women, offering smoother skin and a more youthful appearance.

Neurotoxin Treatment Process

Patients seeking to reverse signs of aging and regain confidence can benefit from minimally invasive treatments like neurotoxin. Derived from bacteria that produce botulinum toxin, neurotoxin works by blocking nerve activity in muscles when injected beneath the skin’s surface, reducing muscle activity and smoothing out moderate-to-severe lines and wrinkles.

Neurotoxin injections effectively target:

Crow’s feet

Forehead wrinkles

Laugh lines

Neck bands

During your consultation at our office, our oral and maxillofacial surgeons will devise a conservative treatment plan tailored to your needs, ensuring beautiful, natural-looking results. Prior to the procedure, we’ll discuss anesthesia options, and a topical anesthetic will be applied to ensure your comfort during injections.

After administering the injections, you can immediately resume your normal activities, as there is no healing period or downtime associated with neurotoxin. Results typically begin to manifest within 24–48 hours, with full effects visible within 30 days and lasting up to four months.

If you’re seeking a minimally invasive solution for fine lines and wrinkles, contact Oral Surgery Specialists of New York in Forest Hills, Jamaica Estates, Midtown Manhattan, to discover more about neurotoxin. Our specialists are dedicated to rejuvenating your appearance with smoother, younger-looking skin.

General Anesthesia

General anesthesia is typically reserved for surgical complex procedures like orthognathic (jaw) surgery or facial trauma, as it induces complete unconsciousness. This form of anesthesia is commonly administered in a hospital setting and requires intubation during the procedure.

IV Sedation

IV sedation is administered via the arm or hand, inducing a rapid transition to a sleep-like state for patients. With this type of anesthesia, you will be partially or even fully asleep and will likely forget the entirety of the procedure. If IV sedation is chosen, it’s necessary for an adult to accompany you and drive you home following the procedure.

Nitrous Oxide

Nitrous oxide, commonly referred to as laughing gas, is a gentle sedative administered through a mask placed over the mouth and nose. This gas effectively alleviates anxiety and discomfort during dental procedures, ensuring patients feel at ease and relaxed. The patient is able to interact with the doctor and respond to any directions or questions.

Local Anesthesia

Local anesthesia involves injecting medication directly into the surgical site to numb the area. This ensures your comfort throughout the procedure, and the numbing effect typically subsides within a few hours. Additionally, local anesthesia can be used in conjunction with other anesthesia methods.
